KBA, in collaboration with CBA Landscape Architecture, assisted Chelsea High School with an assessment, programming, and master planning for the renovation of the existing synthetic turf field, track, lighting, and facility amenities.
Kaestle Boos designed the replacement synthetic turf system, including improvements to the existing field drainage system, incorporation of a shock absorbing resilient underlayment system, full reconstruction of the competition running track and track events, a new scoreboard, new sports field lighting, and infrastructure for future renovation phases. KBA provided construction administration services as well as field performance and safety testing oversight.
The field, like all KBA synthetic turf fields since 2016, was designed and tested to comply with the One Turf Concept developed by FIFA, World Rugby, and FIH for field quality control, safety and performance.
