KBA collaborated with Hartford Athletic and the Capitol Region Development Authority with the design of a new synthetic turf field system that meets the stringent requirements of United Soccer League, FIFA, and World Rugby as part of the renovation to the historic Dillon Stadium. KBA assisted with selection of a synthetic turf system and developed field layout, drainage improvements, and design plans. KBA also provided construction administration services along with FIFA and World Rugby testing and certification. KBA assisted the stadium management team in maintenance training for the new synthetic turf system and equipment.

This field is the first FIFA Certified Synthetic Turf Field in Connecticut, will be the first World Rugby Certified Synthetic Turf Field in New England, and will be the first synthetic turf field with organic infill to be certified by both FIFA and World Rugby in the United States.

One of the best parts of the turf at Dillon is that the bounce is consistent. You usually come across turf where the ball comes in the air and bounces backward – Dillon’s turf bounces true….

This is the top turf I’ve ever played on. It’s way better than both Indy (Lucas Oil Stadium) and New England Revolution (Gillette Stadium), and Pittsburgh (Highmark Stadium). It’s the best in the league.
