The existing Orleans Police Station is in disrepair including poor air quality, roof and foundation leaks, and unsecured evidence storage. Renovating the existing building was examined, however the cost was greater than a new building. Features of the one story building include secure prisoner processing and detention area, secure evidence processing and storage, a training/ community room, roll call area, drive-thru sally port, locker rooms, fitness area, administrative offices, dispatch center and storage. The original facility was demolished and the new building is being constructed on the existing site. Bids for the project were more than $600,000 below the project estimate.

I described my vision of a police facility that would not only meet the operational needs of the organization for many years to come, but also have the aesthetic curb appeal that fit the community. I’m pleased to report that Kaestle Boos Associates’ work product far exceeded my expectations. The team’s ability to listen and properly communicate with the Town’s Building Committee and Police Staff is an excellent example of Kaestle Boos Associate’ unwavering commitment to the client and their overall professionalism.
