Located on the same site as the original police station which was demolished, the new police station is connected to the fire station and dispatch, communication, the main entrance, and a conference room are shared between the two departments. The police station has separate areas for the public, police functions, and  prisoner areas, providing security and ease of circulation. Features of the new facility include a 2-bay sally port, maintenance garage, a large training room, fitness and locker rooms, an evidence lab and storage area, archive storage room, and separate cell areas for men, women, and juveniles. Secure parking for police vehicles and equipment and access to the sally port are separate from both staff and visitor parking. The police station also serves as the Town’s Emergency Operations Center.

This is the third police facility I have been involved in building. Out of the three, this was by far the best total team effort I have experienced. The project was completed on time and within a tight budget producing a facility that the Town can be proud of and will meet the needs of its citizens for the foreseeable future.
