In 2008, Kaestle Boos worked with the Montville Police Department to develop a space needs program for the Department for the next 20 years. Officials and department personnel provided information including sworn officers, fleet size, equipment, number of cells, and number of calls, which was used to develop the program for a new facility. Kaestle Boos also evaluated the proposed site for available area and access to utilities to confirm its suitability for a public safety facility.  Features include a community/training room, roll call room, locker rooms, a secure Sally Port, processing and detention areas, and administrative offices. A new communications tower was also included as part of the project.

The Building Committee and I were most impressed with the thoroughness and persistence of the design team. Their facility and space needs analysis was precise; their public presentations were compelling and the design solution that they prepared for the new building addressed every aspect of the wishes of the officers, dispatch staff, Building Committee and community. The KBA team gave me a comfort level that helped me tackle the decision-making process with confidence.
