KBA provided assessment and programming services to replace the existing multi-sport synthetic turf field. Reviewing the incorporation of a shock pad and the available options for infill material were important programming components. The ultimate design comprised a shock pad over the existing stone base and converted the infill to an acrylic-coated SBR system.
The design team completed an assessment of the existing fields, assisted with selecting the synthetic turf system, and provided design, bidding assistance, and construction administration services. The multi-purpose field is lined for football, soccer, men’s and women’s lacrosse, and incorporated the Town’s new logo. The project was completed under budget, which included the town’s decision to accept bid alternates.
