Kaestle Boos is working with the Derby Public Schools on renovations to the Derby High School athletic complex. Features of the project include the conversion of the natural grass football field to a new synthetic turf multi-purpose field. The multi-purpose field will be lined for football, soccer, men’s and women’s lacrosse and field hockey. The field is located within a cinder track which is also being converted to a new 8-lane synthetic surface track with new field events. Additional features of the project include a new natural grass softball field, new press box, bleachers, and accessibility improvements. Kaestle Boos is also serving as a consultant for the design of a new privately funded synthetic turf baseball field in the athletic complex.
In addition, Kaestle Boos designed a new field house located between the baseball and multi-purpose fields. The new facility will have views of both fields and feature locker rooms, a banquet hall, outdoor seating area, and memorabilia room.
