In 2011, a tornado ripped through the town and destroyed the existing town hall/police building, forcing all offices to relocate to temporary facilities. Kaestle Boos designed a new combined Town Offices/Police Station facility. Detailed interviews were conducted to confirm and refine the space program for all departments. The police station includes a secure sally port, detention area, dispatch center, evidence processing and storage area, administrative offices, and a training room which also serves as an Emergency Operations Center. The Town Hall includes offices for the majority of town departments. The Town Offices and Police Station have separate entrances to maintain security, and the building is located on the site of the existing facility, which was demolished.
