The new facility will be located on the existing site along with two adjacent sites, all of which were analyzed and determined to be a feasible location for the new facility. The Department’s current operations were assessed and a space needs program was developed for the new facility which includes 6 double deep, drive-through apparatus bays, a maintenance bay, training tower, fire operation support spaces including decon and scba supply, living quarters, a fitness area and administrative offices. Construction of the new facility, currently underway, will be phased to allow the station to remain operational throughout construction. Bids received for the project were more than $2 million below estimates.
