Kaestle Boos Associates was hired by the City of Cambridge to renovate an existing 89,000 s.f. former office building to be occupied by the Cambridge Police Department and the Emergency Communication Center. Extensive space planning was completed to accommodate all of the necessary functions of the Police Department including booking, holding cells, administrative offices, media room and community areas. Kaestle Boos also prepared the construction documents and is providing construction administration services. Upon completion of the renovation, the City of Cambridge has set a standard of a LEED Silver rating for the new headquarters. Complete with a green roof, this facility has the potential to be the first Silver LEED Certified police station in the United States.
