Kaestle Boos Associates completed an athletic facility existing conditions study for Phillips Exeter Academy, including assessment of the stadium, varsity baseball, and softball field improvements. The final master plan included KBA’s recommendations and cost estimates including proposed improvements to Phelps Stadium, Stagg Baseball Diamond and a new synthetic turf field.
As a result of the master plan, the natural grass field at Phelps Stadium was replaced with a new synthetic turf field. In addition to the new field, drainage upgrades, renovations of the visitor grandstands, replacement of all railings, and powerwashing of all of the stands was completed. ADA accessibility improvements were also completed. The new multi-purpose field is used for football, lacrosse and field hockey. The field and improvements were completed in time for the start of the Fall 2006 season.
