To further revitalize downtown Waterbury, Connecticut, KBA was hired to design renovations to the historic Palace Theater. The interiors were exquisitely restored to reflect the original “Renaissance Revival” Thomas Lamb design. A new seating layout was organized around a “landscaped” seating plan with the ability to hold 2,900 patrons, which is the largest seating capacity within the state of Connecticut.
In addition to major restorations and the Great Brook relocation, the theater received a new stage house, orchestra pit, and support spaces that created the opportunity to host a variety of first-class performance events, including Broadway musicals, popular music, and fine arts programs. The theater officially came “back to life” on November 12, 2004 with Tony Bennett christening the new stage.
